ok,,, welll,, for last week, i didnt have coffee except on friday (as if i like coffee so much), i drank lots of water, i didnt stick to two meals a day, i walked 3 times. i had shawerma and pizza and chips and sandwiches ..wrong food wrong food ... you name it.
keeping records is a good method to monitor yourself. it does work, and its good on the long run too.. well i used to keep a sheet for body measures, and while browsing, i found 3 xls neat charts for body measures and BMI recording one for women and the other for men and another weekly food chart, just throw the numbers i uploaded them in the box linked on the blog check them out.
what i want to establish this week: two meals a day, one snack, two cups of tea and lots of water and 3 walks.
milestone: if i make a 5 down by Christmas, i'd be happy.

Diet Plan: Week New Beginning?
October 2nd is when i decided to take a week break off diet (^^)
well,, i made my decision now since i learned my lesson,, i gained what i lost.
so ground rules all over again:
walk for 30 - 45 min a day - on pace
8 glasses of water
no coffee
2 meals a day 10:00 // mainly carbs - 7:00 // mainly protein
sleep by midnight tops
2 diet cokes a week
2 bowls of popcorn a week
Next Friday is Free. this Friday is not.
juice -fruits - veggies - shaneeeeneh - salad .. kiiii ad ma biddi!
no chips, no-eat-while-studying, no cheese sandwiches, no biscuits
Think garlic, think apples, think stuff that has vinegar, think grape fruit, lemony stuff...

Diet Plan: Week 9
yesterday when i was sitting for lunch with family,, i put some macaroni salad, its basically macaroni, salary, mayo, green peppers, olives, 2 hard boiled egg yolks, mustard and pickles,, so my dad looked at me and said shu you stopped the diet? i said no im taking a break this week coz im tired w zhi2et and continued eating .. so my sister enters on the dialogue saying with her regular jokes: yeah,, Tala is resting.. she is compensating for her diet weeks.. she is taking a weeeeeek off diet and then dad says,, i know people take a meal a week free and its probably lunch... Dad and my sister can make a comedy show sometimes, they just click and continue for each's closing sentence and it keeps going on and on :)
anyways,, last week is into the trash can,, starting over tomorrow,,
there is something i want to give out a try,, JELLO UNLIMITED,riend recommended that,, so im going to do 3 days of that (since its the routine limit in my case) and three days with two meals a day as before, green tea in the morning (truly muree7) and thats it, and 4 days of 1 hour walk ( i doubt im gonna make four) . this should be 2 Kg i hope.

Diet Plan:Week 8
The Spartan's diet is alright, but the time i chose to follow it was wrong, i should have done something easier not tougher after lets say 4 proper dieting weeks. truely i made four correct days, and the rest were takhbees. i was tired and stressed and i had school dead line to meet and i was sleepless, i had coffee and my stomach was dying that day
when i measured myself Saturday, i didn't lose weight. but body measures were less.
but you can say that i had friday, saturday, sunday and monday free and seriously im eating!
but it decided not to diet this week,, im tired and i need a break.
i'll try not to mess up too much till next Saturday and will think of something for next week
if there is something that i should learn, is to train myself to live with a loaded day by default.
its a matter of fact for another 4 months and spend time wisely though i deadly need a break.
you know what, i really want the sky to rain,, i want to see shita falling.

Diet Plan:: Week 7 Kamakaziii
going kamakazi
week 7 is gonna be the Hani's spartan way! im thrilled to see if i can live through 7 days of tuna salad lol!!! starting tomorrow ;)
this is getting pretty exicting for me,, i got used to two meals a day in small portions.. khabbaset 2 days ( i had white chocolate and snickers / chips ( i love cheetos ):P ) BUT the next day i went out walking for 1.5 hrs ,, i managed to make a 1 Kg loss,, woohoo! the problem we still have the white chocolate syrup at home, i love you hala!!
i didnt get to walk in the morning,, ya3ni i can walk alone at 9 but not at 6, it has to do with my head, and my sister refuses to wake up and walk with me. huh ( by the way she is reading) !!

Sugar Subtitues: Saccharin
"In the United States, five artificially derived sugar substitutes have been approved for use. They are saccharin, aspartame, sucralose, neotame and acesulfame potassium. These compounds are all high intensity sweeteners. There is ongoing controversy whether artificial sweeteners are health risks. Some studies show that some may cause disease in laboratory rats. There is also an herbal supplement, stevia, used as a sweetner. Controversy surrounds stevia's safety, although natural, and there is a battle over its approval as a sugar substitute"
Saccharin was the first artificial sweetener and was originally synthesized in 1879 by Remsen and Fahlberg and its sweet taste was discovered by accident. It had been created in an experiment with toluene derivatives. A process for the creation of saccharin from phthalic anhydride was developed in 1950 and currently saccharin is created by this process and the original process by which it was discovered. It is 300-500 times as sweet as sugar (sucrose) and is often used to improve the taste of toothpastes, dietary foods, and dietary beverages. The bitter aftertaste of saccharin is often minimized by blending it with other sweeteners.
Fear about saccharin increased when a 1960 study showed that high levels of saccharin may cause bladder cancer in laboratory rats. In 1977, Canada banned saccharin due to results from animal research. The FDA in the United States considered banning saccharin in 1977, but Congress stepped in and placed a moratorium on such a ban. The moratorium required a warning label and also mandated further study of saccharin safety.
Subsequently, it was discovered that saccharin causes cancer in male rats by a mechanism not found in humans. At high doses, saccharin causes a precipitate to form in rat urine. This precipitate damages the cells lining the bladder ("urinary bladder urothelial cytotoxicity") and a tumor forms when the cells regenerate ("regenerative hyperplasia"). According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, part of the World Health Organization, "Saccharin and its salts was downgraded from Group 2B, possibly carcinogenic to humans, to Group 3, not classifiable as to carcinogenicity to humans, despite sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity to animals, because it is carcinogenic by a non-DNA-reactive mechanism that is not relevant to humans because of critical interspecies differences in urine composition."
In 2001, the United States repealed the warning label requirement (the threat of an FDA ban had already been lifted in 1991). Most other countries also permit saccharin but restrict the levels of use, while other countries have outright banned it.

Diet Plan:: Week 6
This is to ALIA ... AAAAAAA IT WORKED :) ;) :D HEHEHE
i measured myself,, i made -2Kg !!! phew!! it did feel great actually..
Friday i had pancakes & mansaf & chips! 3ajjabet
i didnt have a single cup of coffee for the whole week, all green, all tea. and its soothing for the tummy
about the sukareen, two of my uncles have diabetes and they used to take it then they stopped because they say there is something in it that is proven to be not good on the long run (aspartin?aspartime?) im not sure about it,, but im managing well with no sugar
though i have to admit, i had icecream Thursday :D just once
hmm i went out walking and i have been doing short walking too.
i don't know what to do for Ramadan now,, im not fasting since im christian, but somedays, i leave home at around 7:30 since school started and i wont get to go home till 8 or 10,, so food management is kind of tougher now, im having breakfast before i leave, and im taking can of corn, or cup noodles, or two fruits, i have milk or yogurt or juice, thats around the middle of the day, and when i go home, like 8 i prepare a meal.
but you know, im really trying to get up and walk early first thing in the morning.. i set the clock and i actually wake up like 5:15 but i stay in bed to 6:30 then i go nap to 6:45.. i just cant do morning walks alone. i love the fresh air, khalas must try.. tomo..
this week i will try to work on minimising carbs, especially in 8 pm meal. if i take carbs, its at brkfast. midday, its mainly salad/fruits/dairy.. protein at the evening.. soups ,, this is whats on my mind for now
but the greatest feeling ever, when you have a light dinner and you wake up the day after and you feel your stomach flat and relaxed :D

Diet Plan:: Week Five
okie,, i just want to snap at myself now!! GOD last week was the most terrible thing diet wise.. well its been a month now,, no lets talk about last week now,, it was damn stressful and i really lost control,fully,, i walked once for a short period of time, i had coffee with sugar and caramel syrup! i had ice cream like every two days, i had chips, popcorn, everything name it! i even had jam sandwichez, i didn't do that for ages!!
there is this damn pattern i noticed myself doing, when there is something serious on my mind, my life just stops. i just shut all focus abilities on everything and i have my brain at that spot and i obsess about it and it ruins all the right order that it needed weeks to be set. its like a reset button.. damn i hate myself when i do that! damn it damn it..
didn't lose anything, didn't gain anything during past week, thinking of four past weeks, me is not happy with results neither, its not useless, its not important in my head, that's all,, but I'm aware of myself but normally i lose control after day 3, all i need to figure is not WHAT to eat, cause i can differentiate, i have a degree in that, but when to eat, and how to manage cooking time, cooking what. what to do at work, uni and not going for whatever everyone is having.
since its been a month now, i will take full measures ,, make a spread sheet, mark weekly target, set exercise days,, buy my groceries after finishing here,
will repeat with Diet Plan Week Four

Diet Plan:: Week Four
well, this week food monitoring wise was alright, khabbaset like 2 days mish 3 :P.. but i didnt follow much of the plan,, i didn't give myself time to think of preparing food according to the schedule,, i have been walking a little bit too..
gonna be more specific next week. no plan. just ground rules, and its just a trial..
ok, lets say for this week i want to:
walk 3 times for 1 hour with steady pace,, not to clear my mind but to exercise
i have a question: if you wanted to exercise in the morning would you rather have breakfast and go exercise or go exercise first? since breakfast is gonna be burnt throughout the day later on?
i want to have two meals, not three, and one snack in the middle to maintain sugar levels.
lets say i go exercise early morning, have breakfast sometime at 9:00 , go ........ (fill the blank) , and something like 7:00 pm with some one filling balanced meal. and thats it.
snack time should be at 2:00 pm and most preferably to be fruits! which has sugar/vitamins and no carbs.
Coffee
i don't know about it? its been a week with regular two cups/day which is ?? so what alternatives should one take to work? i will try to replace is with water.
now what qualifies for breakfast?
definitely milk/juice
definitely 2 toasts and something, name it ( labaneh/cheese/ turkey/7umos/thyme+ 1 tbs OO)
1 fruit.
what qualifies for 7:00 pm meal?
Salad for sure
definitely its mainly protein ( 120 grms of meat/chicken/fish/tuna/eggs)
go as low as possible on carbs ( rice/pasta/freekeh/bread/starch) 6 tbs or below.
Soup if you can since its too hot/ something with vegetables is always good.
i don't think im being creative with the options.. must dig in some cook books.
i have questions in my mind like: what if i wanted to go have some burgers/pizza with my friends? what does this meal equate to?
i think if you manage to have a normal breakfast and a small snack, you can give it to yourself if you had fried stuff/bready/greasy for your main meal but its important not to eat till you get full.
and ofcourse dont eat directly before you sleep. give yourself 2-3 hours minimum.

Late Diet Plan:: Week Two
in case you read,, sorry sorry been disconnected for a while,, and i should have at least posted the past saturday,, so here you go.
hmm.. i wanted to say something about diets,, sometimes you totally forget that you are following a plan,, and why why does people start inviting you to yummy dinners, birthdays start popping out immediately after you start your plan???! hmm... another thing, it takes you like a week or forever to decide that yes, i want to live healthy, eat healthy, so if you survive the first week right, and manage to pass the second week, yup you got the system going... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... well i had 5 days right, messed up the following 3,, and before yesterday, a friend said, how's the diet going on with you,, i was like oops..!!! sa7 nseeeeet !! its not that bad though,, ya3ni ma khabbaset --- kteer :P
what i managed to establish, i have breakfast right which is good, and i have lunch on time, nothing in between,,, its the snacks and dinner!! must get rid of those... and i keep forgeting about the water.. water the first thing when i wake up, warm with one squeeze of lemon if had the time.
by the way, i will be so happy if i manage to lose 1 kg a week :D really, i believe in slow motion when it comes to dieting and its something like an everyday right pattern of eating, so its just a bad habbits breaker which i hope i'll get going.

breakfast: 2 toasts + 2 tbs 7ummos + 1 tbs olive oil + 1 glass of orange juice
lunch: 6 tbs of rice + 120 grm grilled chiken skin removed + mloookhieh (hurraaay) i love this :D + salad!
dinner: 1 cup of tabbouleh + 1 apple
Day 7
breakfast: 2 toasts + 1 slice of turkey + 30 grms of white cheese + 1 glass of skimmed milk
lunch: 120 grm of grilled fish + 10 potato fries + 1 cup of veggies + salad!
dinner: 1 small banana + 3 tbs of beans (Foul) + 1 toast
hmm.. i wanted to say something about diets,, sometimes you totally forget that you are following a plan,, and why why does people start inviting you to yummy dinners, birthdays start popping out immediately after you start your plan???! hmm... another thing, it takes you like a week or forever to decide that yes, i want to live healthy, eat healthy, so if you survive the first week right, and manage to pass the second week, yup you got the system going... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... well i had 5 days right, messed up the following 3,, and before yesterday, a friend said, how's the diet going on with you,, i was like oops..!!! sa7 nseeeeet !! its not that bad though,, ya3ni ma khabbaset --- kteer :P
what i managed to establish, i have breakfast right which is good, and i have lunch on time, nothing in between,,, its the snacks and dinner!! must get rid of those... and i keep forgeting about the water.. water the first thing when i wake up, warm with one squeeze of lemon if had the time.
by the way, i will be so happy if i manage to lose 1 kg a week :D really, i believe in slow motion when it comes to dieting and its something like an everyday right pattern of eating, so its just a bad habbits breaker which i hope i'll get going.

Day 1 + 2
breakfast: 2 toasts + 2 tbs labaneh + 30 grm white cheese + 1 glass of grape fruit juice
lunch: 6 tbs of rice + 1 cup of ocra + 120 grm grilled meat + salad ( 1 tbs of olive oil)
dinner: 1 toast + 2 tbs 7ummos + 1 orange
Day 3 + 4
breakfast: 2 toasts + 1 boiled egg + 1 tbs honey + 1 glass of skimmed milk
lunch: 120 grms kefta + 1 small baked potato + boiled veggies + salad!
dinner: fruit salad ( 1 apple + 1 orange + 1 tiny banana)
Day 5 + 6
breakfast: 2 toasts + 2 tbs 7ummos + 1 tbs olive oil + 1 glass of orange juice
lunch: 6 tbs of rice + 120 grm grilled chiken skin removed + mloookhieh (hurraaay) i love this :D + salad!
dinner: 1 cup of tabbouleh + 1 apple
Day 7
breakfast: 2 toasts + 1 slice of turkey + 30 grms of white cheese + 1 glass of skimmed milk
lunch: 120 grm of grilled fish + 10 potato fries + 1 cup of veggies + salad!
dinner: 1 small banana + 3 tbs of beans (Foul) + 1 toast

Diet Plan:: Week One

this is the plan i will be following this week, will post a plan every Saturday.
Breakfast: fresh juice+ 2 toast & labaneh & vegetables
Day 1
Lunch: beef steak ( 120grms) + boiled veggies + 1 toast + 1 fruit
Dinner: Yogurt and cucumber salad + 2 fruits
Day 2
Lunch: pasta with tomato sauce (rice or freekeh) and fresh salad with apple vinegar
Dinner: skimmed milk + 1 toast + white cheese (30 grms) + 1 apple
Day 3
Lunch: fresh salad ( apple vinegar) + grilled chiken + 1 toast
Dinner: tuna salad + 1 toast + 1 apple
Day 4
Lunch: Meat (your style) + boiled veggies + 1 toast
Dinner: vegetable soup + 1 toast + 1 fruit
Day 5
Lunch: grilled fish with extra lemon and fresh salad + 1 toast
Dinner: salad + labaneh and 2 toasts
Day 6
Lunch: steam rice and yogurt
Dinner: 1 toast + white cheese and fresh juice
