Peace is not just a colored ribbon, its more than a wrist band or a T-shirt.
Its not just a donation or a 5 K race. It's not just a folk song, or a white dove. And peace is certainly more than a celebrity endorsement. Peace is a full time job. It's protecting civilians, overseeing elections, and disarming ex-combatants. The UN has over 100,000 Peacekeepers on the ground, in places others can't or won't go, doing things others can't or won't do. Peace, like war, must be waged.

Responsibility to Protect R2P
Morning people,
for today, I landed on Chomsky @ the united nations, a panel discussion was held in Brazil on July 23rd debating the responsibility to protect R2P which is a norm to address the international community’s failure to prevent and stop genocides & war crimes.
take a look at the part where chomsky spoke about Gaza, check youtube for the rest, very very interesting.
conclusion:
the media has an enormous role in bandpassing the information governments want to keep from the people because the only hope for policy to change is through the popular will of people.
